She reconnected with herself and discovered solace in the intersection of art, science, history, and cultural studies of the ancient civilizations of the circum-Mediterranean region, exploring their rich traditions of ancient healing and medicinal plant usage. After dedicating her career to science, Fabiana embraced her artistic side and began expressing her ideas and emotions through creative pieces inspired by this magical region.
Officina Magica was born from this deep love for science, art, and Mediterranean lore, with its profound historical roots, ancient symbols, wisdom, healing plants, and mysteries.

About Fabiana
Fabiana is a scientist, artisan, and educator who enjoys combining science and art to raise awareness about ancient healing techniques and the enduring legacies of medicinal plant usage. Holding a B.S. in pharmacy and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of São Paulo/Yale University, Fabiana has held roles in academia at esteemed institutions like Yale University, Columbia University, MSKCC, and the New York Botanical Garden, as well as in the biotechnology industry with Proteolix (subsequently acquired by Amgen). Her portfolio includes numerous scientific manuscripts delving into the chemistry and pharmacology of plants and ethnomedicine. Fabiana is also one of the inventors of Kyprolis' formulation, a multimillion-dollar cancer drug.
